About TechWinks
TechWinks is a small team publication. We write guides for the moments when a device stops doing what you need — Wi-Fi that drops, storage that fills up, an account that needs locking down — and we write them for readers who just want the setting, in order, without jargon.
TechWinks publishes guides, not news or product reviews. You will not find deals here, or generic “best tools” lists: if a guide names a tool, it is because that tool does the one job the guide covers. Each guide is written to solve one problem or complete one task, so you can follow it from start to finish and know when it has worked.
What TechWinks covers
Windows
Windows 11 and 10 fixes, organised by the fault or the setting — Wi-Fi, sound, updates, storage.
Android
Android settings and fixes by device and app, including Samsung and Pixel.
Apple & iOS
iPhone, iPad and Mac settings and app guides, one job at a time.
AI Tools
One tool, one task — summarise, draft, plan, organise — with a check on the result.
Cybersecurity
Password managers, two-factor authentication, phishing, and Wi-Fi safety basics.
How TechWinks guides are written
- Begin with the fault in front of you: the guide names the exact error, warning or setting — “Wi-Fi connected, no internet”, a storage warning — before it names anything else.
- Start with what you need: any prerequisite — the device, the account, the cable — comes before the first step, not halfway through.
- Follow the order you tap in: each menu is named as it appears on screen, in the order you open it, with nothing assumed about a screen you have not reached yet.
- Check the result as you go: after a restart or a setting change, the guide says what should look different, so a step that failed is obvious at once.
- Plan for the step that fails: where a result points to a different cause — the PC, the router, the app, the account — the guide says what to try next, and never claims a fix works on every device or version.
- Keep the guide current: when a menu or step changes, the guide is updated and its updated date changes with it.

Spotted a step that no longer matches the menu on your screen, or a guide that misses your fault? Topic suggestions are welcome too — tell us the fault or the task, and the device it happens on. You can reach us here: Contact TechWinks.
